Siemens angiography and MediGuideTM Technology facilitate significant dose reduction during Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT)

چکیده

The study showed reductions fluoroscopy time and radiation exposure of up to 90% when compared to conventional (exclusively fluoroscopy-guided) CRT implantations. There were no negative consequences on procedural efficacy and no complications. Background CRT and MediGuideTM Technology CRT is a well established therapy for patients with advanced Heart Failure (HF). The number of implantations is rapidly increasing worldwide. In the US and Europe together, more than 150.000 CRT devices are implanted each year.

Cardiac resynchronization therapy for mild heart failure.

It has been firmly established that cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) reduces symptoms and improves mortality in patients with moderate-to-severe chronic heart failure [New York Heart Association (NYHA) class III-IV], despite optimal heart failure medication and with wide QRS complex on the surface electrocardiogram as evidence of ventricular dyssynchrony, but not whether such treatment i...

Cardiac resynchronization therapy reduces left atrial volume and the risk of atrial tachyarrhythmias in MADIT-CRT (Multicenter Automatic Defibrillator Implantation Trial with Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy).

OBJECTIVES We hypothesized that reductions in left atrial volume (LAV) with a cardiac resynchronization therapy-defibrillator (CRT-D) would translate into a subsequent reduction in the risk of atrial tachyarrhythmias (AT). BACKGROUND There is limited information regarding the effect of CRT-D on the risk of AT. METHODS Percent reduction in LAV at 1 year following CRT-D implantation (pre-spec...

Cardiac resynchronization therapy is more effective in women than in men: the MADIT-CRT (Multicenter Automatic Defibrillator Implantation Trial with Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy) trial.

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors related to sex-specific outcomes for death and heart failure events in the MADIT-CRT (Multicenter Automatic Defibrillator Implantation Trial With Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy) trial. BACKGROUND In the MADIT-CRT trial, women seemed to achieve a better result from resynchronization therapy than men. METHODS All 1,820 pat...

Longer Left Ventricular Electric Delay Reduces Mitral Regurgitation After Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy

Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is associated with favorable ventricular remodeling and improved clinical outcomes in appropriately selected patients with left ventricular (LV) systolic dysfunction and electric dyssynchrony. Given that a significant minority of patients do not derive clinical or echocardiographic benefit after CRT, there has been substantial interest in identifying dete...

Low-dose dobutamine stress echo to quantify the degree of remodelling after cardiac resynchronization therapy.

AIMS Presence of contractile reserve during low-dose dobutamine stress echo (DSE) appears predictive of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) outcome. We hypothesize that changes in left bundle branch block (LBBB)-induced dyssynchronous motion during low-dose DSE could be related to the extent of reverse remodelling. METHODS AND RESULTS Fifty-two patients (69 +/- 2 years, EF: 24 +/- 7%, QRS...
